Boppard

4 nights/5 days

Boppard is idyllically situated in the valley of the Lorelei, It is an attractive town with many picturesque buildings, large enough to be interesting for pupils but not so big that it would be daunting for them. Its history goes back to Roman times. The Bopparders are very well-disposed towards the British. The area offers good walking possibilities and boat trips, Koblenz and the Mosel valley are within easy reach ~ apparently the high point of the visit for the pupils is a trip to Phantasialand.

Cologne

4 nights/5 days

Cologne is the fourth largest city in Germany; its heart is its Cathedral by the Rhine. In good weather an ascent of the Cathedral's south spire (509 steps) is well worthwhile.

Your programme might also include a boat trip, a trip on the Rhine cable car, a visit to the Chocolate Museum and to Phantasialand. The Roman-Germanic Museum is particularly recommended.
